FAQ

TRIPLE A Skin Science is an Australian owned and made, professional-strength skin science company. Our serums are formulated to help prevent and improve the visible signs of ageing, brighten pigmentation, and plump and hydrate the skin. Skincare does not need to be complicated to work: a few potent, well-formulated products, used consistently, will do more than a shelf full of creams.
Getting started
At what age should I start taking care of my skin?
From around 21 the skin’s cell-renewal cycle begins to slow, collagen and elastin start to deplete, and sun exposure adds up. That is when dehydration, dullness and early fine lines appear. Professional-strength serums are made with a smaller molecular structure so their actives can penetrate beyond the surface and address specific concerns. See our age groups and recommended serums guide.
Why serums and not creams?
Creams moisturise the surface and give an instant feel, but they cannot penetrate deep enough to change the skin over time. Serums penetrate further and can be layered to target hydration, fine lines and pigmentation together.
How do I apply TRIPLE A serums?
Morning: cleanse with the Gel Cleanser with AHA, tone with White Tea Toner, press one pump of Hydrating Hyaluronic 97% and/or AM Brightening C 20% into the skin, then moisturiser and SPF.
Evening: cleanse, tone, then Balancing B3 and/or PM Retinol 0.5% on the face, and Stem Cell Eye Serum around the eyes. Moisturise if needed.
How often should I apply my serums?
Introduce one active serum at a time. Week one: two applications. Week two: three. Build gradually from there. AM Brightening C 20% and PM Retinol 0.5% are highly active, so a light tingle is expected at first; build them up slowly toward daily use. Hydrating Hyaluronic 97% can be used every day from the start.
Which serum is right for me?
I have pigmentation and sun damage. Which serum do you recommend?
AM Brightening C 20% helps inhibit melanin formation and reduce oxidised melanin while supporting collagen and radiance. For stubborn sun damage, pair it with PM Retinol 0.5% at night to support cell turnover. Shop the pigmentation collection.
I am mainly concerned about fine lines and dull skin.
PM Retinol 0.5% supports the skin’s natural cell renewal to improve the look of fine lines, texture and tone. Introduce it gradually and always wear SPF during the day. Our beginner’s guide to retinol explains how to start.
I have large pores and oily or combination skin.
Balancing B3 (10% niacinamide) helps regulate oil, minimise the look of pores and even skin tone. Use it at night; if you also use AM Brightening C 20%, keep them at different times of day.
I am young and don’t want anything harsh.
Hydrating Hyaluronic 97% is a gentle, non-clogging hydrating serum based on a molecule that occurs naturally in the skin. It suits every age and skin type.
Why do I need a separate serum for around my eyes?
The eye area has no oil glands and is far thinner than the rest of the face, so it needs a formula designed specifically for it. Stem Cell Eye Serum is rich in fatty acids and antioxidants, nourishes and hydrates, and helps protect the delicate orbital area from environmental stress.
Would you suggest PM Retinol for someone who is 34?
Yes. At 18–21 the skin renews roughly every 28 days; by 30 it is closer to 28–45 days and by 40 around 45–60. As renewal slows, dead cells build up and skin looks dull, drier and more lined. Retinol supports that renewal, so from the early thirties it is a sensible addition, introduced gradually.
Skin conditions and safety
I am pregnant or breastfeeding. Which serums can I use?
We recommend two: Hydrating Hyaluronic 97% and AM Brightening C 20%. Avoid PM Retinol 0.5% and Stem Cell Eye Serum (which contains a form of vitamin A) while pregnant or breastfeeding, and check with your doctor.
I have rosacea. Are the products suitable?
Hydrating Hyaluronic 97% is very gentle and well tolerated. AM Brightening C 20% is a potent antioxidant; introduce it slowly and patch test. The serum to avoid is retinol / vitamin A. If your rosacea is active or diagnosed, speak to your dermatologist first.
Do the formulas contain parabens?
No. All TRIPLE A formulas are paraben-free.
Why are your products fragrance-free?
Fragrance is a powerful marketing tool, but both synthetic and natural fragrances are among the leading causes of dermatitis and allergic reactions — burning, stinging and itching. Every TRIPLE A formula is fragrance-free.

Skin science basics
Skin is the body’s largest organ and has three layers. The epidermis is the outer, protective, waterproof layer that gives skin its texture and tone. The dermis beneath it holds collagen and elastin, hair follicles and sweat glands. The hypodermis is the deepest layer, made mostly of fat and connective tissue.
